Fahdan handles PRO services and document clearance in Bahrain for companies and their staff: commercial registration and renewals, LMRA work visas and family permits, attestation and translation, and the follow-up with each ministry until the approval is issued. Tell us the transaction, we check the documents, file through Sijilat, LMRA or MOFA, and keep you updated. Our team works from Bahrain, so you don’t have to learn each portal or chase each office yourself.
PRO services act as a bridge between your business and government authorities, handling essential administrative and compliance-related processes such as:
Preparing and filing Commercial Registration (CR) applications and renewals with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) through Sijilat.
Handling the government paperwork to register your company and obtain its licences, from trade name reservation to the final Commercial Registration.
Processing work visas, residence permits, labour approvals, and family sponsorships.
Ensuring adherence to local laws, including labour regulations and Bahrainisation requirements.
Certification of official documents for legal use within Bahrain and internationally.
Coordinating with ministries and authorities to secure approvals and resolve compliance matters.
Without expert support, businesses may face delays, penalties, or operational disruptions due to incomplete or incorrect documentation.
Document clearance means preparing your paperwork, submitting it to Bahrain's government bodies and following it up until the approval, permit or certificate is issued. A PRO or document clearance agent does this for you, so you do not have to learn each portal or work out which document is missing.
You do not have to file it yourself. Bahrain's Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) accepts commercial registration applications, including new registrations and amendments, through a professional intermediary office or through a representative holding a power of attorney certified by a notary public. The table shows where PRO and clearance work usually happens. For the full list, see the government authorities we work with.
| Government body | Examples of PRO work there |
|---|---|
| Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), mainly through the Sijilat portal | Commercial Registration (CR) applications and amendments, CR renewals, security clearance for foreign investors, SME Classification Certificates |
| Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) | Registering a new CR with LMRA, work permits and renewals, family (dependant) permits, requests to raise a company's work permit ceiling |
| Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) | Residence permits, and residence for relatives outside LMRA's family permit, such as parents and children over 24 |
| Social Insurance Organization (SIO), which replaced GOSI in 2008 | Social insurance registration for staff. LMRA also checks SIO salary records for family permits |
| Municipality | Site approval for your business premises during the CR process (some locations are already pre-approved) |
| Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and embassies | Attestation and apostille of documents used in, or issued by, Bahrain |
| Sector regulators | Prior approvals or licences for regulated activities (for example, product approvals for trading companies), which the CR application needs from the relevant authority |
Which of these you deal with depends on your business activity, your shareholders' nationalities and how many people you hire. If you are still setting up, read our guide to company formation in Bahrain and the step-by-step company formation guide. For the licence itself, see company registration in Bahrain (CR). If you also operate in Saudi Arabia, see our corporate PRO services in Saudi Arabia.
In Bahrain, a foreign employee's work visa is an LMRA work permit. The employer applies for it on the company's Commercial Registration through LMRA's Expat Management System (EMS). Once the permit is approved, the residence permit is printed through Bahrain's National Portal and the employee attends LMRA in person for biometric enrolment.
As your visa agent in Bahrain, Fahdan prepares the file, checks the documents, submits and follows up the application, and handles renewals and family sponsorships.
Expatriate employees hired by a Bahrain company need a work permit issued on that company's CR. A new company must register its CR with LMRA before it can apply for permits. Founders and shareholders who plan to live in Bahrain normally apply for an investor visa, which is a separate route from an employee work permit. See our guide to the Bahrain investor visa. Long-term residence through property, income, retirement or talent is covered on our Bahrain Golden Residency page.
Expatriate employees can bring their spouse and children up to age 24 through LMRA, with the employer submitting the application. At the time of writing (September 2026), LMRA requires the employee's net monthly salary, as registered with the SIO, to be at least BHD 400. Parents, brothers, sisters and children over 24 apply through NPRA instead.
Sijilat accepts documents in Arabic or English, and LMRA asks for marriage and birth certificates in Arabic or English. Certificates and company documents issued abroad usually need to be legalised before they can be used in a CR application or a family permit. Fahdan handles MOFA, embassy and notary attestation, apostille, translation, credential evaluation, and SME and classification certificates.
Sijilat's published guidance lists two routes, and only one is required:
MOFA rejects a document if any of its details have been amended or added to, so check names and dates before you start.
In Bahrain, apostilles are issued by MOFA, and only for official documents issued by Bahraini government bodies that will be used in a Convention member country. For other countries, MOFA's regular attestation is used, and the destination country may have its own legalisation steps.

Short answers for founders and HR teams handling Bahrain's government paperwork.
Not for every step. MOIC accepts company applications through a professional intermediary office or a representative with a power of attorney certified by a notary public, and employers file LMRA permit applications online. Some steps still need a person in Bahrain. For example, a new employee must attend LMRA in person for biometric enrolment, and registering a company with LMRA at its counters needs the CR owner or a power of attorney holder.
The employer. Work permits are issued on the employer's Commercial Registration through LMRA's Expat Management System, and a new company must register with LMRA first. The employee supplies documents such as a passport copy and, if they are outside Bahrain, a medical report no older than two months from a Wafid-accredited centre.
LMRA's service page (September 2026) lists 3 working days for LMRA approval when the employee is already in Bahrain, and 21 working days when the employee is applying from outside Bahrain. Actual timing usually depends on the file: missing documents, or approvals needed for specialised occupations, can add time. That is why we check the full file before it is submitted.
Possibly, but not through the usual LMRA family permit. LMRA covers spouses and children up to 24. Parents, brothers, sisters and children over 24 apply through NPRA under its own conditions. We can check the current NPRA requirements for your situation before you apply.
An apostille is a single certificate recognised between Hague Apostille Convention countries. In Bahrain, MOFA issues apostilles, and only for official Bahraini government documents going to a Convention country. Regular attestation is a chain of certifications through the foreign ministries and embassies of both countries. Sijilat's guidance says either route is accepted and only one is required.
Only if they are not in Arabic or English. Sijilat accepts documents in those two languages, and LMRA asks for marriage and birth certificates in Arabic or English. A translated birth certificate must also be certified by your home country's embassy in Bahrain and by Bahrain's MOFA, so we check this before filing.
It depends on the transaction and the government fee for it. Send us the transaction and we confirm the government fee and our service fee before we start.
The employer is the applicant at LMRA. As your PRO, Fahdan prepares the documents, files the application for your company and follows it until the permit is issued. LMRA needs the right authorisation on the company's account, such as a notarised power of attorney, and we tell you exactly what it must include.
Document clearance is one transaction: preparing, submitting and following up a single piece of government paperwork until it is approved. PRO services cover a company's government work over time, such as CR renewals, work permits, family permits and attestation. Fahdan handles both: a single clearance job or ongoing PRO support.
Not always. You or your authorised signatory can file on Sijilat and with LMRA yourself. A PRO saves time when you do not know which authority or documents a transaction needs, and MOIC accepts company applications through a professional intermediary office or a representative with a power of attorney certified by a notary public.
Yes. Our corporate PRO services in Saudi Arabia cover MISA, Ministry of Commerce and CR renewals, compliance certificates, and visa, work permit and Iqama processing for companies operating in the Kingdom.
PRO (Public Relations Officer) services help businesses manage government-related administrative tasks such as company registration, visa processing, licence renewals, labour approvals, document attestation, and compliance procedures.
